Cleaning and Rust Prevention for 150 Prado

With soo much debate over fish oil and electronic pulse products, the only thing in my mind that is clear is that driving on the beach will cause rust eventually. Primarily driving at Bribie Island, I always used the under vehicle wash and a wash down, but chassis rails began to weigh on my mind. Watching some Youtube, I quickly discovered the plethora of anti salt products.

The biggest players in the market seem to be:

• Salt Shift
• Salty Captain
• Salt away
• 4wd Detail

Knowing I wanted to do preventative maintenance on the chassis rails, I looked around and decided on the Salt Shift Chassis Flusher.
This is a great design with magnets that make attaching to your car a breeze.

Being so many different companies specialising in salt removing formulars, I did not know who to choose. Then one day I was in Super Cheap and saw this wash kit bucket.
Given that they have been at this since 1993, I trust they know what they are doing..

People who actually have an idea of what they are talking about rave about this stuff. Working on a deal with my mechanic to use their hoist so I can lay it down properly.. stay tuned.

Early December 2023 I was able to use the mechanics hoist to have a good look under the vehicle. The Prado had just ticked over 166,000 km and is starting to show signs of minimal rust.. Not bad considering that it visits the beach semi regularly.
